We have a very important announcement to make—prepare yourselves for a wild ride. We recently approached Italian musician Carlo to record one of our theme songs for the movie. The task? Simple. A short live piece with around four chords that could be knocked out in 10 to 15 minutes. But Carlo, oh Carlo, seems to have lost all touch with reality. He demanded 1,500 euros plus taxes for half an hour of work. Yes, you heard that right. That’s brain surgeon money for strumming a few chords.
Now, let’s pause for a moment and reflect: we weren’t asking him to compose the next great symphony. We didn’t request a full orchestra, a choir, or fireworks synchronized to the beat. Just four little simple chords. Instead, Carlo wanted to bill us as though he was performing open-heart surgery with a drumstick.
Regrettably, this means Carlos’ character will be stripped from the movie. And that’s a shame because we genuinely believed he would have been a great fit. He was meant to be a dynamic, multi-instrumental drummer—a maestro of rhythm! But alas, rather than having his name associated with an epic film score, Carlo has chosen a different path. He’s decided to stay in his comfort zone, playing covers in small hamlets and charming countryside villages of Italy.
Here’s the thing: we truly believe Carlo has the talent to play arenas across Europe. Heck, we’d even have been happy to accommodate him for gigs in London, but last time when we offered him this he got cold feet! But when someone asks for the GDP of a small nation to pluck a few strings, well… it’s hard to take that seriously.
We suspect Carlo may have gotten icey feet when it came to creating original material. His repertoire is mostly covers, and we respect that—every artist has their lane. But with that said, we are officially striking him off our wishlist. With immediate effect.
We genuinely wish Carlo the best in his future endeavors. We hope he finds many opportunities to charge 1,500 euros for 30 minutes of his work, serenading villagers in the rolling hills of Italy.
Ciao, Carlo. May your journey be as melodramatic as this text.
….and yes we had been triggered!!
